Vicky and Eric came to us through one of our past brides and one of our favorite catering companies, Culinary Eye.

The funny thing is, that wasn’t our only connection! Probably the coolest part about Vicky and Eric––besides the fact that they basically own a Batmobile––is that Eric was the leader of a group at Burning Man that one of our photographers, Dace, happened to be a part of. During this time at Burning Man, they went through some sort of spiritual reckoning together (as one does at Burning Man), and to signify this experience, Eric made these really beautiful little square necklaces and gave them to everybody in this group. Each one was unique.

This same year was a very big year for Dace, as he was bravely battling cancer. So the story goes––Dace was assisting us at a wedding and happened to lose his necklace at the event. We searched high and low. We called the venue a few times, and it was unfortunately never found. Dace was devastated and so were we, feeling someone responsible for him losing this treasured memorabilia that he literally wore each and every day.

Fast forward, meeting Eric was serendipitous and a complete coincidence. I found out about his leading a Burning Man group while we were having our initial video chat to discuss photographing their wedding. As the conversation went on, we discovered that, lo and behold, Eric’s group was the camp Dace had been a part of! Better yet, Eric still had some of the memorabilia necklaces in his possession!

He, very kindly, gave us one to pass along to Dace. You can imagine what giving him this necklace felt like for us and, obviously, for him. I feel our coming together was truly remarkable, and I have no words for the way the universe works sometimes. I just feel like we’re all so goddamn connected. It freaks me out! In the best way.

Having forged this incredible bond and story with them, Vicky and Eric chose us to be their wedding photographer. At this point, they have had to move their wedding date twice! They were originally supposed to get married in March––what was going to be our first wedding of the year! As the pandemic rolled around, they moved to September, and at this point when all remains somewhat uncertain, they’ve moved to next September for a little more peace of mind.

Vicki and Eric met at Burning Man, and are a very San Francisco couple. Thus, it made sense for us to capture a very San Francisco engagement for them. The cherry on top of our session was, of course, their Batmobile! Another reason to love them.

We are so happy to have met this couple and are so excited about their wedding. It will undoubtedly be such a wonderful, long-awaited celebration of their love.
