Meet Michaela
Growing up around Arabians and Thoroughbreds, Michaela understands how being subtle, quiet, and patient, yet assertive is the best way to earn a horse's trust. Having rediscovered horseback at 36, she knows exactly how much joy a partnership with a horse can carry. Her extensive experience in portrait and wedding photography allows her to create beautiful imagery in any light, capturing that important relationship on film.
At Michaela Joy Photography, we know your horse is part of your family.
We believe that anyone can have stunning artistic images of their horse without sacrificing comfort, joy, and the magic of their time together. We want you to be proud of your portraits and like how you look on camera.
We understand that your experience during the session should always take priority, which is why we don't overly pose or interfere with intimate moments between you and your horse. Most of all, we focus on the beauty and the feeling of your love together.
Our goal is for every horse owner to have gorgeous images that they can hold in their hands, and relive their story for generations.
Here is how it works. First, we'll have a call to get to know you and your needs. We'll help you select the perfect outfits and the best location. During your portrait session, we'll encourage joyful images that are carefully curated so that you and your horse look your best. Within 3 weeks you'll receive the best portraits in an online gallery and we'll schedule a video consultation call to perfectly design the artwork for your home. We curate every tangible art piece (from wall art to heirloom albums) so that you'll have the best representation of your beloved horse, with memories that will last for a lifetime, or more.
